From Cratons to Orogens is a three-part memorial collection published by the American Journal of Science in honor of Alfred Kröner. The collection brings together studies on crustal evolution, tectonics, geochronology, magmatism, metamorphism, and orogenic processes across Earth history.

About this Collection

The Alfred Kröner Memorial Collection was published as a multi-part Special Collection under the title From Cratons to Orogens. The collection includes contributions on Archean and Proterozoic crustal evolution, continental growth, orogenic processes, magmatism, metamorphism, geochronology, geochemistry, and paleogeographic reconstruction.

Part I appeared in the January–February 2021 issue of AJS, Part II appeared in the June 2021 issue, and Part III appeared in the February 2022 issue.
